The Rieger name is one of the most historic in Kansas City, timelessly linked to the city’s hospitality and craft spirits tradition. We are proud to work on behalf of four accounts that share many ties and set a benchmark for quality in everything that they do – and produce. J. Rieger & Co. 

Jacob Rieger & Company was originally founded in 1887 in Kansas City’s West Bottoms Livestock Exchange district. The distillery produced over 100 alcoholic products on a national basis, including the iconic Monogram Whiskey, but it was forced to close in 1919 with the advent of Prohibition. In 2014, 95 years after Prohibition, J. Rieger & Co. was relaunched by business partners Ryan Maybee, owner of The  Rieger and Manifesto, and Andy Rieger, the great-great-great-grandson of Jacob Rieger. The current distillery is located in the historic East Bottoms of Kansas City. The product line includes Kansas City Whiskey, Midwestern Premium Vodka, Midwestern Dry Gin, Left For Dead, and Caffè Amaro.

The Rieger and Manifesto

Co-partners Ryan Maybee and Chef Howard Hanna opened The Rieger in 2010. Located at 1924 Main St. in Kansas City, MO, The Rieger proudly showcases the region’s bounty in the heart of a revitalized downtown. Driven by the singular motto, “Beautiful Food for the People,” The Rieger offers traditional heartland hospitality with classic dishes and hand-crafted cocktails. Seasonal menus change quarterly to highlight the depth of the region’s local ingredients. The basement houses the nationally acclaimed speakeasy-style bar, Manifesto, opened by Maybee in 2009. Originally opened as a hotel in 1915, The Rieger honors the history of the neighborhood by adding a lasting restaurant to Kansas City’s downtown scene, including an iconic mural of the original Monogram Whiskey that has become a landmark of the Crossroads district.

Ça Va

Founded by Chef Howard Hanna, GM/Sommelier Caitlin Corcoran and Wine Director Jim Coley, Ça Va offers an enlightened Champagne and sparkling wine list full of bottles from every corner of the planet, from France to South Africa, England and local Missouri. With a specialty in grower Champagne, made by small producers who know and live their terroir, Ça Va also offers a locally-nurtured bar menu. It’s French flair with a Midwestern heart, bringing Champagne to the people.
